Instructions for use Tooth Gem Kit
Welcome to SelfGem, where we show you how to apply beautiful dental jewels with our DIY Tooth Gem Kit. Carefully follow the steps below to ensure that your dental jewelry is placed safely and successfully.
Step 1: Preparation
Before you start, it is important that your teeth are thoroughly cleaned. Brush your teeth carefully to remove plaque and make sure your teeth are clean and dry before applying the dental jewellery. Good oral hygiene is essential for long-term and trouble-free placement.
Step 2: Preparation
Open the package of the DIY Tooth Gem Kit and neatly lay out all the parts on a clean surface. Take your time and make sure you have at least 15 minutes free to use the kit. Acting in a hurry can lead to mistakes, so take your time with the process. Also, place a small cup of water next to you for use during the procedure.
Place the included cheek hook in your mouth to expose your teeth. This ensures that your teeth stay dry while placing the dental jewellery. Alternatively, you can also use the included cotton rolls. Place a cotton roll between your tooth and lip to keep the lip away from the tooth. If necessary, you can use extra cotton rolls to pull the lip further away from the tooth.
Step 3: Placing the Tooth Jewels (use a mirror!)
Dip an applicator stick into the container of "STEP 1 ETCH" (etching agent) and brush it over the surface of the tooth where you want to apply the dental gem for about 30 seconds. This prepares the tooth surface for bonding.
Use a cotton roll moistened with water to thoroughly wipe the etchant off the tooth. Make sure that no etchant remains on the tooth surface. Use the dry end of the cotton roll to dry the tooth completely.
Dip a new applicator stick into the container of "STEP 2 BOND" (bonding agent) and apply a thin layer to the desired location for the tooth jewel.
Use the included white wax pencil (jewel picker) to carefully pick up the tooth jewel and press it into the center of the desired location. If necessary, slightly adjust the position of the tooth jewel with an applicator stick or the wax pencil. Then gently press the dental jewel against the tooth.
Step 4: Curing the glue
Use the small UV light included in the kit to cure the adhesive. Aim the UV light directly at the tooth gem and the entire tooth, making sure it covers the entire location. Shine the UV light for about 60 to 120 seconds to fully cure the adhesive. Make sure that no saliva or moisture gets on the tooth during the curing process.
Now you're done!
Aftercare
After placing the dental jewellery, it is important to take the right aftercare measures:
- Do not touch or play with the dental jewel immediately after application.
- Avoid chewing gum for at least one hour after insertion.
- Limit your diet to soft foods for the first 12 hours.
- Do not brush the tooth with the jewel for 12 hours. Also, avoid using an electric toothbrush for the first 24 hours after insertion.
- Be careful when biting into hard food where the dental gem is placed to prolong its life.
- Avoid smoking and vaping for at least 12 hours after placing the dental gem.
Preferably store the DIY Tooth Gem Kit in a cool and dark place, such as the refrigerator (2-8 degrees Celsius). Keep the product away from heat, fire, flames and sparks. Also, keep it out of the reach of small children as the dental jewels can be a swallowing hazard.
This product is not suitable for babies and small children. For teenagers, we recommend using the product with a parent or guardian.
