💡 Is it allowed to brush electrically with a tooth gem?

Yes, that is certainly allowed. But with a few important points of attention:

  • Use a soft brush head: Avoid hard or 'whitening' brushes. These can loosen the jewel or damage the enamel around it.
  • Cleaners on the lightest setting: Set your electric toothbrush to the lowest setting to prevent the dental jewelry from being displaced by too much pressure.
  • Do not clean directly on the jewelry: Focus on the gums and the rest of the tooth, but avoid excessive brushing directly on top of the tooth diamond.
  • Avoid alcohol or mouthwash: Alcohol can loosen the adhesive, so do not use mouthwash with alcohol to rinse your mouth.

🦷 How do you care for your teeth with a tooth gem?

A tooth jewel is not harmful to your teeth, as long as you take good care of them. Here are our tips:

  • Clean twice a day, carefully around the jewel.
  • Use floss or picks between your teeth – the jewel is on the surface, so flossing remains important.
  • Preferably use a fluoride toothpaste without abrasive particles.
  • Manual brushing recommended: To extend the lifespan of your tooth gem to extend, it is best to brush manually. Electric brushes can exert too much pressure, which can affect the adhesion.

⚠️ What you should better avoid

  • No whitening toothpaste: These are often too coarse and can damage the adhesive.
  • No toothpastes with baking soda or charcoal: Too abrasive for tooth jewelry.
  • Do not pick or scratch at the jewelry: Even if it seems loose, leave it as is or replace it with a new tooth jewel kit.

🔁 Tooth gem loose from electric brushing?

It can happen that a piece of jewelry comes loose after weeks or months due to friction, too much pressure, or movement. This can be recognized by the gray underlayer of the tooth gem, where the top comes loose but the bond to the tooth remains strong.
